In October 2023 Warner Bros. marked its centennial. Rick Wayne directed a documentary series for the occasion, produced through Underscore Films, featuring a range of artists and their reimaginings of iconic Warner Bros. characters.

The brief on a centennial is a trap in a specific way. A hundred years of output invites a retrospective, and a retrospective is a narrated timeline that positions the audience as an admirer of something finished. The series was built to avoid that.
